Ana C. Barbur

Ana received her Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from The Politehnica University in Timisoara, Romania. Ana’s major concentration of study was Organic Compounds Technology with a minor in Pharmaceutical Products Technology. Previously employed as a Research Scientist with the National Institute for Research and Development in Condensed Matter from Timisoara, Romania, her extensive experience includes pharmaceutical products synthesis and characterization, organic dyes and paints, supercritical fluid extractions, food additives and emulsifiers, phase transfer catalytic processes and a wide range of analytical laboratory methods and techniques.

Since joining ARDL more than 20 years ago, Ana has participated in numerous short-courses, training seminars and certifications in the analytical chemistry field as applicable to polymers and polymeric compounds. She is leading ARDL’s Chemical/Analytical Services including the Chemical Testing Services, Pharmaceutical Testing Services, Microbiological and Microscopy Testing Services.

Ana has been fundamental in starting and developing the Chemotherapy Resistance testing field at ARDL through its Pharmaceutical Testing group, making ARDL a world leader in this area. Ana is also strongly involved in FDA compliance testing and evaluation of various PPEs and medical devices. She is the co-inventor for one US/CE patent and as a scientific researcher has written/co-written 12 journal articles and poster/technical presentations.
