Rubber Compound Development

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

Calendaring

Prototype your project to your specific needs by using ARDL’s laboratory-size equipment for calendering. Produce valuable insight and testing opportunities prior to expanding your product to commercialization.

ARDL has a 4-roll inverted-L laboratory calender capable of skim coating fabric or calendering rubber and plastic sheets from 0.020” to 0.500” thick and up to 10 inches in width. The calender is oil heated and can obtain temperatures up to 204°C (400°F).

ARDL’s laboratory calender can help you to start up a new product line or to improve an existing one. We can also help you evaluate adhesion, rubber-to-fabric, rubber-to-metal, and rubber-to-rubber bonding.

Evaluative

ARDL’s Mixing and Compounding Department provides evaluative testing per ASTM standards for a wide range of materials. Our capabilities include physical and chemical testing, Mooney Viscosity, Mooney Scorch, Rheometer, Vulcanization and more.

Materials include:

  • NR (Natural Rubber)
  • SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber)
  • IIR (Isobutene-Isoprene Rubber)
  • BR (Polybutadiene Rubber)
  • EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymers)
  • NBR (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Copolymers)
  • BIIR/CIIR (Halogenated Isobutene-Isoprene Rubber)
  • And many more

Processability

ARDL’s Mixing and Compounding Department offers testing to analyze and measure the processability of materials following a variety of ASTM test methods. We can measure viscosity and stress relaxation, pre-vulcanization characteristics, mold shrinkage, extrudability, Mooney Viscometer testing, capillary rheometry, and many more. Our experts will work with you to evaluate and improve the processability of your materials, whether they are for transfer or compression molding, extrusion, calendaring or any other process.
